One Hit Wonders !!

Here a few flies I tied up for this up coming trout season.  I call them one hit wonders for two reasons.  One the fact that one cast into the water and there is a good chance the fly will come back without any sand left on it.  The second reason is I am hoping that one nicely placed sand covered fly and the fish will bite.  I love it when a fish hits on the first cast.  That usually means it is going to be a good day on the stream. Only less than a month left of this torture and then the fish will be lining up for photos :)

Winter is Almost Gone :)

Until Next Time........Tight Lines to All !!!

  2. You know I was just thinking of trying to put together a fly like the top one except brown and tan stones. I think it will catch a lot of fish.

    1. Howard,
Thanks much. I got the sand a long time ago in Oceanside, California. I figured maybe it will bring good luck out fishing. I guess we will wait and see. I look forward to seeing your creation. Tight Lines.

    1. Brk Trt,
Thanks a lot. The crystals are actually some fine sand from the beach in Oceanside, California where I lived for a little while. I love it out there. Just a shortage on nearby Brook Trout streams :) Plenty of waves to surf though! Tight Lines.

I like the bugs. Scuds are one of those pattern that so simple to tie that the unique few really stand out. I'll need a report on those when your season opens. You know your welcome to drive down out of that freezer your in and throw a line in some of these Missouri blue ribbon waters. Day before yesterday was 60 degrees. I kind of feel bad telling you that. Digg'in the new page headers to.

    1. KEvin,
Thanks a lot. I will be sure and let you know how they work. I promise I will take a photo of the first fish it fools ;) Someday I hope to make my way down to Missoura. I have heard nothing but good things about the fishing there. We have always wanted to check out the Ozarks too. I think Wisconsin is going to have to do something about this excessively long off season... don't they know what there doing to us trout fisherman ??? I'm sure we drive our wives crazy :) Tight Lines.
