Bombing the Browns !!! DARK WATER STYLE!!!!!

Here are a few flies that I tied up today.  I plan on using them to bomb some trout sitting deep.  Hopefully a  Lunker or two.  I will be trailing these attractor flies with the smaller ones in picture below.  I have caught some of my biggest fish on these same types of patterns.  Deep dark water.  One time while out fishing I had a dude come stomping down the stream fishing the water I was working upstream to fish.  Although I was pissed, I refrained from insulting him, and asked " Did you fish that hole at all?"  The hole being a huge stretch of super dark deep water.  His response was " I don't fish that DARK water.  My buddy is working his way downstream, but he won't fish it either..."  as if to say I was stupid for thinking I would catch something in this stretch.  As he moved down to the next hole, I proceeded to cast into the "Dark Water" snickering to myself, and pulled out a 20"+ Brown Trout.  The guy pretended not to see me and I released the trout and skinned out before I had to make conversation with his hole stealing Buddy.  Crossing through the stream as much as possible on my way out :)  It took all I had in me to keep my middle fingers in check :)  Oh well, at least I still had the "Dark Water" to myself..!!

TRAILER FLIES

Here is a photograph of a bluff we hike called Castle Rock.  It is a great place to catch a sunset.

This is just a drawing I did a while back and thought maybe some of you may enjoy it.  Hope you like....

Until Next time...Tight Lines to all..!!!!!!!!!

  2. Nice fly and congrats on such a nice brown. The fishing gods seemed to have rewarded you for having to put up with such lousy stream-side manners from others.

  12. Kiwi,

You'll always have those who just don't understand what fishing etiquette is. Oh well there's plenty of other streams around here :)

  13. Jeff,

Thanks. I like to take some of my more effective patterns and tweak them here and there. The cone heads work great when the water is cruisin along a little faster than usual.

  14. Kevin,

Thanks much. The cone head is not tungsten, just regular. It just wouldn't be the same if there weren't some pretentious fisherman out there :)

  15. Sanders,

Thanks a lot. Glad you like the drawing. Its meant to be turned 360 degrees to be able to see everything that's hidden in it. Not the easiest to do unless your on a laptop :) Let me know if those flies work for you out in Colorado. Good luck and tight lines.

Glad to hear you like the flies. The drawing is hiding little pics of things in it. Can you find the teepees with smoke coming out of the top??? :)

  17. Cofsher,

Thanks and glad you like the flies. It always amazes me what people tell me that they see in my drawings. Sometimes they see things that I didn't even draw. Yours is definitely one of the wildest ones. :) Tight LInes.

Thanks a lot. Glad to hear you like the flies. I really like to use these when I go to some of the more stonier, swifter creeks around here. Sinking them deep. Tight Lines thanks for following.
